A variety of commonly treated conditions by Osteopathy:
"I can quite quickly identify and diagnose a patients problem and therefore treat them. In most cases the patient can recover within three to four visits. On occasions it may take longer or further tests may be required and with the consent of the patient I will request any these investigations from the doctor the results of which will help in the diagnosis. It is not our policy to 'string patients along' if my patients do not see an improvement in their condition within a reasonable time or I feel I cannot help them (they may need surgical or medicinal intervention) I will refer them along with a letter identifying my findings and any recommendations".
Michael Andidorou Registered Osteopath graduated from the British College Of Osteopathic Medicine, London, after completing a four year Osteopathic Medicine degree. The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) is internationally regarded as one of the world's best specialist osteopathic education institutions.
"I had always wanted to work in the health care profession but not sure of which direction to take as I wanted to treat patients as a whole and spend time listening to them, and was impressed at the training involved in becoming an osteopath as it was very similar to that of a conventional medical degree undertaken by student doctors but more hands on and more time spent with patients. Osteopaths - similar to doctors are trained and qualified to make a full assessment of their patient and can accurately diagnose neuro-muscular skeletal illness."
Michael Andidorou Bsc Hon Ost Med, ND. DO.
"The course was very demanding. and there was a lot to learn academically, I had to pass exams and assessments on subjects that would be found in a conventional medical degree. I am very glad that I went to BCOM because I now realise that the standard of education there is high. My training was very thorough and I felt confident going into private practice".
Michael has treated a wide variety of conditions ranging from acute to chronic injuries, treating sports people from elite to amateur and ergonomic related office injuries and has gained a good relationship with local G.Ps, he has undertaken numerous post graduate courses in sports injuries, lower limb biomechanics and ergonomics.
Michael is a firm believer in liaising closely with other medical practitioners including GPs, Neurosurgeons, Consultant Radiologists and Podiatrists in order to achieve a satisfactory result for the patient.
Michael Andidorou is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is a member of the British Osteopathic Association
